1. Agreement
By applying for an Aurien account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Aurien. Aurien is operated from Detroit, Michigan, United States.
2. Eligibility and applications
You must be 18 or older and you attest to that when you apply. Every account starts as an application. We review applications by hand and admit people who run an operating business or are vouched for by a member; we may decline an application without giving a reason. Until you are approved you can complete your profile and read these pages, and nothing else. We may revoke approval if we learn that what you told us was untrue.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current. One account per person. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.
4. Membership and fees
Using Aurien is free during the founding beta. Where a paid membership is offered, its price and renewal period are shown at the point of purchase. It renews until cancelled; a cancelled membership stays active until the end of the period you paid for. You update your payment details or cancel where you bought the membership, or by writing to support@aurien.biz. Deleting your account cancels your membership at once. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. What a paid membership includes is stated where you buy it; today it is priority routing of your asks to more members.
5. Acceptable use
Do not post false or misleading information, impersonate anyone, harass or threaten members, send unsolicited commercial messages, post content that is illegal or that infringes someone's rights, scrape or harvest member data, or try to get around the application gate, the rules that protect member data or the systems that award points and record outcomes. Members can report content and people from inside the app; we review reports, remove content and ban accounts at our discretion.
6. Your content
You own what you post. You give Aurien a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, display and distribute it inside the service so that other members can see it, and to show the fields on your digital card to people you share the link with. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that messages you sent and outcomes recorded with other members remain, with your name removed, because they are part of the other member's record.
7. Points, rank and badges
Activity points are an engagement counter awarded by our servers with daily and weekly caps. They do not rank members, unlock features and have no monetary value. Rank comes only from verified outcomes: an ask you delivered that the other member confirmed. Badges are awarded by our servers for accepted and helpful introductions and for the most confirmed outcomes in a month. We may change or reset any of these at any time.
8. Referrals
Members may share a referral code. Fake accounts, self-referrals or anything else that games referrals will get the accounts involved banned and the awards removed.
9. Deals, events and introductions
Aurien is where members post deals, events, asks and introductions. We are not a party to anything members agree between themselves, we do not verify listings, and we are not responsible for what comes of a connection. Verified outcomes record that two members both said an ask was delivered; they are not our guarantee of anything.
10. Termination
We may suspend or ban an account that breaks these terms, without notice. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Sections 6, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.
11. Disclaimers
Aurien is provided as is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any member is who they say they are, or that you will get any particular result from using it.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Aurien and the people who run it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes in the app or by email before they take effect, and the date at the top is the date of the current version. Continuing to use Aurien after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and the United States, and disputes belong to the courts located in Wayne County, Michigan, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. Contact: support@aurien.biz.
